Entrepreneurs often face a myriad of financial issues and questions, but don't have a background in economics or finance. Whether pitching to investors, making payroll, or understanding their business model, participants can use this full day intensive workshop as a primer on the fundamental vocabulary, concepts, and frameworks required to understand the finance side of their business.

SCHEDULE

Robert Dighero has over 20 years operational experience, the last 15 working with the internet. He is a partner at White Bear Yard and an active investor across Europe focused on early stage e-commerce, payment and marketplace businesses. He has led a number of investment syndicates and taken on a number of board and advisory roles. Robert was previously CFO of QXL ricardo from 1998 to 2008, overseeing development from start-up to its eventual sale to Naspers.  

Pratik Sampat is the CEO of Horizon, a London-based Accounting firm specialising in outsourced accounting and finance solutions to entrepreneurs and Tech start-ups.

Jonathan Lamptey is a chartered accountant, consultant and PhD Researcher at the London School of Economics with 15 years of operational experience with media organisations including The Walt Disney Company, Channel 4 and PRS for Music. His experience of working in dynamic organisations has created interesting opportunities to develop resourceful methods for presenting financial information to different audiences with varying requirements; from Board Directors to start up founders. His distinctive background allows him to combine his professional accounting background, startup experience and academic expertise to provide a unique and refreshing approach to business problems.

Richard Heap is a Technology & Media partner with Kingston Smith W1, the Top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers. Richard provides Accounting, Tax, M&A and general business advice to clients ranging from small, fast-growing, entrepreneurial companies to mid-sized and public companies. His clients include digital and social media agencies, mobile and internet based businesses, casual and social gaming, software, telecoms and web hosting businesses. Previously, Richard was the Head of the Telecoms sector at BDO for 3 years, and formerly worked with E&Y’s Technology, Media & Telecoms group and also PwC for a total of 12 years.
